The Cascade City-County Health Department plays an important role in helping county residents achieve and maintain health, safety, and self-sufficiency. The principles that guide us daily are:
OUR MISSION: Cascade County Public Health's job is your good health! We are always working for a safer and healthier Great Falls, Cascade County, and the surrounding areas.
Together, with our community partners, we prevent disease and injury; promote healthier choices; protect food, water and air; prepare for emergencies; and provide quality health and dental care to low-income and uninsured residents.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE CENTER: The CHCC is a division of the City-County Health Department. It is a not-for-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center focusing on providing high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive primary and preventive medical, dental and behavioral health care. The CHCC is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Primary Health Care.
FAMILY SERVICES: Family Services is working to enhance the health and safety of the families in our community. We work toward this goal with educational efforts, screenings and the services we provide. Our programs include:
- WIC-Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
- Maternal and Child Health Programs such as Parents as Teachers, Home Visitation, Suicide Prevention, Oral Health Education, and Follow the Child
- Safe Kids Cascade County/Buckle Up Montana
- Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Program
PREVENTION SERVICES: Prevention Services works to prevent disease and injury in our community, promote healthier choices and behaviors, prepare and respond to public health emergencies, investigate disease outbreaks and provide quality health information. We work toward these goals through the activities of our programs:
- Immunizations
- Communicable Disease and STDs
- Emergency Preparedness
- Cancer Control (including Tobacco and Breast and Cervical Health)
- HIV Prevention and Case Management
- Health Promotion and Wellness
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Environmental Health Services focuses on providing a healthy environment for the residents of our community. We promote a healthy environment through education, monitoring and enforcement of state laws and regulations in several programs. These include:
- Air Quality
- Daycare Centers and Group Homes
- Drinking Water
- Food Establishments and Safety (Licensing Options, Food Safety, Etc.)
- Public Accommodations (Hotels, Motels, B&Bs, Tourist Homes)
- Rabies Prevention
- Septic Systems
- Subdivisions
- Swimming Pools/Spas
- Tattoo/Piercing Establishments
- Trailer Courts
- Other Recent Events and Special Projects
